Turf

I know this may sound like a daft question, but has anyone seen rolls of turf for sale? We have taken out a large tree in the centre of the lawn, and thought it might take rather a long time to wait for grass seed to grow!!

We took out five large palm trees during March and April. It didn't take long for the surrounding grass to grow over the patches with the rain we had in May. You can get some of the sprigs or tufts of the type of couch grass that creeps sideways. Not as fine as the grass that result from seed but much more durable and less likely to go brown with the heat of the summer. With the cooler weather coming you could still sow some seed and put the tufts in. If you want some of the tufts, let me know, we have plenty. Answering your question I expect some of the large garden centres have the rolls of turf, maybe at Q gardens just this side of Lagos or one of the ones that advertises landscaping. Good luck!
