When Gary and I were over end of June we noticed a significant change in the noise levels after midnight, but I guessed that's was pretty normal for that time of year. Also our apartment is in the centre of CVO so there's no getting away from it, I just shut all the windows and hope the booze will do the rest. Zzzzzz!!!!
My mother-in-law had a hard time though as she sleeps realy lightly so had a few rough nights.

Seems so long ago already but our fortnight from 29/6 to 11/7 was every bit as pleasant as previous years. Four families, great time and all booked for three weeks same time next year as soon as we came home!
Sure things change but we still felt very comfortable letting our bigger kids wander, the smaller ones have fun and the really big ones just soaked up the sun, scenery and cocktails. None of us could have asked for any more.
On the balconies at Colina Branca usually by midnight, small kids in bed, big ones in Havana or Round Up and peace to play the guitar and have a sing song. Beats me what people want but we all got as much of the "real" Algarve as we were bothered to look for, enough "home stuff" for those who wanted it, no drugs about, no fighting, no timeshare sellers and plenty crack!

We noted an increase in noise at the end of June, but we put it down to the lovely new friend we had made!!Gary/Gaynor wrote:When Gary and I were over end of June we noticed a significant change in the noise levels after midnight, but I guessed that's was pretty normal for that time of year. Regarding the possible increase in crime, there is absolutely no excuse of course, however the massive increase in cost of living is effecting not only the tourists but of course the locals too, who are finding it difficult, as are the British to make ends meet, this inevitably leads to an increase in 'petty' thefts, but as has been proven before in holiday resorts frequented by mainly foreigners, the thefts are often carried out by tourists knowing that they are leaving the resort soon and will more than likely get away with it.
On holiday we need to be more crime aware, not less, afterall we are only visitors to a foreign country.
As for anyone wanting a quiet time in Carvoeiro, its very very simple, don't go in peak season !
