URGENT HELP AND ADVICE AS WE ARE NOT RETURNING TO THE UK

Post by Massimo »

Hi

WE HAVE DECIDED TO STAY IT'S CHEAPER THAN TRYING TO RETURN.

My Fiancee, myself and our 18 moth old baby are having to return to the UK. :(

We just can not survive here any longer with no work and money.

We need a few miracles if anyone knows where they maybe?

We can not afford to ship our goods back to Oxford as we have no money.

Most people have told us to leave our belongings and start again but we can not as they are very personel and our sons everyday stuff.

We also can not afford to rent a house or flat in Oxford as we don't have any money.

We both have jobs ready in the Uk but have no family to help us.

Can anyone please help or offer some useful info. Upto today we had no money for food for us and our son. Someone we didn't know gave us €60 for food for us and our baby so there are nice people in this world.

We really appreciate good comments and any help.

Many thanks

I guess its not a joke if you look through Massimo's previous posts.

Well done for giving the dream a go, few of us have the guts to do it. Best of luck.

Strangely enough there are some people willing to help others out.
I can't help personally, but have you tried the British Embassy (they help people get home in emergencies) or the Benefits people in the UK (stress you have a baby and have no home)?

I suggst you check
http://www.dwp.gov.uk/lifeevent/benefit ... abroad.asp

to identify the benefits to you which are available to all EEC nationals irrespective of NI contributions

Hiya, sorry to hear of your unfortunate plight.
The agencies previously mentioned will be able to help you on entry to the UK. State at entry that you do not have any family, finance etc, play on the fact of the little one and they will help you. As you say, you do have work sorted out, but they do provide a capital amount to start up for such problems as yours. Good luck

I can't add anything to the excellent suggestions above Massimo but just to say that I feel for you and your family.

It happened to us and we had to return to England when our business went downhill, though we didn't have a baby but a schoolboy son to care for.
We didn't have a home to come back to and though Hub had a pension,so we could feed ourselves, it was very difficult to start over again and you have my sincerest sympathy.
We lived in a caravan for a while but the only way we could get a proper roof over our heads was to 'go into service' and we had a 'tied cottage' to live in.
You say that you & your Fiancee have jobs to come to but reading your sad story I wondered if you could possibly do something like ourselves?
You seem young and you have your cooking qualifications..if you get help to get back to England, maybe you could get a job with accommodation?
I know its not the ideal situation, it wasn't what we would have wished. But it did give us shelter, a proper home and money coming in.

Just a thought.

Good luck with everything and I hope you get the help you need and get back here okay and find a home, for the sake of your little boy as well as yourselves,
God bless

Haven't been on here in a while as we have been really busy. Don't know if you remember my husband (Simon) and I came to your shop after all your great advise. I can't really help although if you need any space to store anything in Portugal we have some room in our garage. Also a friend of ours in travelling by car back to the UK in February and I know someone else who has a trailer. I may be able to get the two together to get some of your stuff back for you?? NOt sure if he has a tow bar though.
If you think any of this may be any use then let me know and I will see what I can do.
Good Luck to you and thanks for all the help you gave us.
Kind Regards
Cate
