What about removing the graffitti from the street furniture?

A lot of it has been there a few years and judging by the 'tag' the same person(s) is / are responsible.

Stayed @ Solferias a few years ago and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. :( Have a look at Trip advisor for some reviews. They keep promising to do a complete refurb, but we passed there in July and little appears to have changed! Long trek up 'Cardiac Hill' from the centre of CVO - not recommended...

Why not try a different way to get to Portimao? Drive to Ferragudo & park the car. Walk to the end of the quay & find the restaurant called 'Sueste' - they have a ferry boat that will take about 12 pax across to Portimao or Praia de Rocha. Hi - regarding the query about a market place in CVO. Click onto http://www.carvoeiro.com/Guide/maps/Carvmap1.gif You can get to the indoor market by taking a left turn going up 'retaurant hill' and its immediately on the right. Well stocked market for fresh meat but I'm sure they have fish as well....

A few years ago 'Fizz' from Corrie (I don't know her real name) was staying in CVO when we were there - she seemed the same bubbly person in real life as the character she plays.

(I suppose she counts as a 'celebrity'!)

We stayed there a few years ago, the hotel was very dated with all areas / rooms, including the pool area, badly in need of a full refurbishment (they told us that this was going to be done the following year). Re Oasis & distance from Carvoeiro Sol - its about 100 metres away so I don't think you will need a taxi. Enjoy.
