If it is the Wolf brothers (and their now deceased father) that used to run the restaurant at Monte Carvoeiro and then moved to somewhere near Albufeira then I expect the food will be very good. Looking forward to feedback on this one!

Just been informed that I can't claim ANY utility costs against my tax bill. I think this is called a reverse starbucks - i.e. I have turned a trading loss into a taxable profit

It's the gas that gets me - I am seriously considering not renting from Nov-Mar as it is almost impossible to break even

As I understand it, you can only reclaim expenses for when the property was actually let i.e, If rental income was 20k and your expenses were 20k, but the property is only let for 50% of the year you can only claim 50% of expenses against your tax - meaning you actually have a taxable profit of 10k ...

I agree Carlos is very good - He started teaching my son when he was seven - 5 years down the line he is now part of the County Squad and has competed internationally (yes, proud dad!)

Despite assurances to the contrary it appears that my agent may not have informed the authorities of the change of domicile.

Anyone know if they can back-date this or am I stuck with a whopping bill this year?

Hi all - just been informed that my property tax is going up from 1,000 euros to 5,000 euros per annum as of next month because the villa is owned through a company. First I have heard of it - anyone know anything about the new rules???

It is said that there is no such thing as bad publicity - I think this exchange of views is a classic case. I believe Rascals have shown they are honestly trying to make their customers as happy as possible and because of this I for one will now try it, whereas I may not have done before
