I used this car rental service in June, it was excellent. Booked a bottom of the range small car but got one with air con at no extra cost. Don't expect that would happen in peak season but was impressed and would recommend

Thanks for the responses - I contacted Ian Rostron in the end and he did the inspection and provided a report within a couple of days. Also reduced his quoted charge as the property was smaller than he'd anticipated!

This was of interest to me too as I'm thinking of buying a place locally and would like to learn the language.

The nearest courses I've found on the internet are through www.cactuslanguage.com who do courses in Faro and Portimao.

Would be great if anyone else knew of anything more local.

My next trip will be to an apartment in the centre of Carvoeiro with no pool but only a very short walk to the beach.

Does anyone know if any of the places nearby allow non-residents to use their pool (for a fee?) if we fancy a day on a comfy lounger and to swim in warmer water?
