Re: Long term rental
Hi Robert
Not sure whether we have got crossed threads here, but am afraid the apartment I was advertising for renting out (on another thread) has now been let out.
Regards
Ken

Portuguese Long Term Rental Contract Template?
Hello We are potentially renting our property out long term. I have a UK version I could adapt, but from what I understand Portuguese contracts normally say 5 year period/1 month notice even though the agreed period may alot less (e.g. 1 year). Can anyone confirm whether this is the case or even pro...

Re: villa managment
We use a company called Robinsons Retreats. They manage various properties and varies from a fairly basic service like we have for our apartment through to full service villa type management. Nice couple (Emma and Mike)

Re: Credit card payment in restaurants in CV
Hi All Can you advise as walking round with cash during the holiday really isnt preferable in this day and age... Thanks In all honesty you are more likely to get parted from your cash in the UK than CVO, pilfering is far less of a problem than many larger resorts in Portugal and rest of Europe. If...

Re: New Hotel
I think although technically they are resort owned apartments, some will be leased back to management company by owners. Happens on similar resort style complexs (e.g. Monte Santo), and probably best way to shift spare capacity is on hotel rather than apartment rental sites.

Re: Hire of push bikes?
Only thing I would say is that there are very few flat areas in the local area and its very deceptive in a car and I only realised when I started running around the place. Thought about push bikes many times, but decided against it since a leisurely bike ride could quite easily turn into 2/3 hour se...

Re: Cheltenham Festival
You may get the odd bar showing it, but since in all honesty its not really big box office for the bars you may have to ask to put it on (most the ones with TV's can get UK channels). As for betting, think you will be restricted to internet since don't think I have ever noticed one in Portugal never...

Re: Curry Houses
I'm not sure there is anything traditional to any region that hasn't been tampered with over the centuries. Gaynor :) Totally agree, wherever you are in Europe its very hard to find food that has not been influenced by other cultures in some way. Same applies in Portugal, tastes evolve and what peo...

Re: Curry Houses
We would like to see in the village somewhere that is prepared to take a risk and offer more regional Portuguese dishes. You are right in that the Algarve being a traditionally poor area does not have such a varied cuisine or one that would appeal to many who just want to play safe when on holiday ...

Re: Curry Houses
Why go to the expense of travelling abroad if all you want to do is eat the same food and drink the same drink as when in the UK. Seems like a big waste of your time and money . This is where I don't get your argument. In the UK most people would not eat only traditional UK diet, but a bit of every...

Re: Curry Houses
Makes me laugh some of the pretentious food snobs on here. I like different and interesting food as much as the next person, but wherever you are in the world and no matter how good the food is; sometimes you just want a change After 12 nights of eating local Algarve cuisine in CVO, I have often gon...

Funny you say that, went there for first time last July and although had an excellent meal (if a little pricey but suppose choosing scallops did not help...
