estombar is closer to carvoeiro but somehow placed in a desert...

actually it´s too quite.

when i want a really 'party' night i go to albufeira, alvor or portimao's marina and when coming into carvoeiro about 1am it´s like leaving center lisbon at it´s fullest day shopping confusion and entering the desert...

trains from tunes to estombar or silves are synchronized. it costs a fortune to go from tunes to carvoeiro by taxi.

yes everything is closed, it´s a national holliday. obviously not restaurants, tourist shops or great commercial areas.

i´ve stayed there last october.
nice hotel. as the 'guest' above says. but i must desagree with one thing: you do not need a car to go the beach or to go to carvoeiro. it´s a nice walk.
the hotel is above the clifs. there´s a sauna, and a hot pool near the outside pool. i certanly recomend it.
