I have visited the area 5 times now but they have always been in June /July or September. We are thinking of coming over from 4 to 11th December to play some golf, hopefully in the sunshine. Can anyone give an idea of what to expect temperature wise and also how much rainfall do you get at that time...

Just going back to Patricia Cornwell novels, I have read then all and can't wait for the next one to be published. However, you really need to read them in the correct order because Kay Scarpetta (the main character) has a lot of personal stuff happening and it would spoil it for you if you find out...

I spent a week in this area about 3 years ago just on the road down to the beach. We got a lot of road noise with locals tearing up and down but all in all in was very nice otherwise. We found that to get to supermarkets etc you would definately need a car.

We came to Carvoeiro last year and although prices were a little higher than in 2001 due to the euro I'm sure they have gone up drastically since 2002. Even eating in and drinking out was much more money. We spent less money on meals out at New Year in Madrid than we did over the last 2 weeks on hol...

I logged on today to see if there was a discussion about prices and 'low and behold' there is. The converstaion has gone off at a tangent but nevertheless I will add my comments. I have been to the Algarve now for 5 years in succession having just returned from 2 weeks staying in the Vale Centianes ...

Also a Monarch flight but get the crown service try www.flycrown.com they offer various options for times and days and you get scheduled flights and even a frequent flyer discount if you use then again. They are no more expensive than charter flights

Does anyone know if there is a supermarket handy in this area for day to day things like bread. I appreciate that there is the Intermarche but may just want a few essentials from time to time (like emergency supplies of wine and beer if we run out).

What is the latest news please is it now open, we are coming to Carvoeiro 7th June.
