Shutters

Post by ceh »

I am in the (slow) process of buying a villa which is about 20 years old. All the windows have either wooden shutters or some sort of wrought iron work but there are 3 patio doors with no shutters of any kind and I'm keen to install some shutters.

Can anyone advise me what is available and where/who from.

thanks

shutters

Like all the original properties on QDP, our villa used to have wooden window frames/patio doors etc but the previous owner replaced all these with white metal framed double glazed windows and metal shutters on every window/door. The patio doors just have panels of shutters which concertina up when open and fold into a clip on the wall either side of the doors. I imagine that any local window supplier would be able to fit these nowadays. Unfortunately all the supplier info to do with our villa is out IN the villa and I am stuck here in freezing England! But if you can't find any contacts I can see if I can find the info out for you.

We were about to get shutters, but in the end decided against it. We also went to see Antonio - very good workmanship and the prices didn't look too bad at all. Definitely worth talking to him.
