WALK - MONDAY 31 MARCH 2025 - FIGUEIRA CORK FOREST
Linda and Russell will be leading this walk. We head up through the pretty village of Figueira, through the Cork forest and out into the countryside via the orange groves. Then we loop back passing lots of grapevines, and ruined farmhouses. We head back via a cafe in the village where we can stop for refreshments before heading back to the cars via the river bank. The walk is around 8 kms, 2 hours and not too difficult. Please wear suitable footwear, bring a drink, no charge. We may have lunch at a restaurant near by after the walk.
Meeting time 10.00 am. Meeting point: Sociedade de Figuerense, Figueira. Directions: Drive west along the N125, pass the Alvor turning and Penina Golf. About 2kms further along go under a footbridge and immediately turn right at the sign: "Polidisportivo". Park just after the social club entrance. There is no cafe at the start of the walk. Please indicate below if you would like to join us and if you want to stay for lunch. Contact on the day is 0044 7960552618.

Hi Linda and Russell,
Unfortunately I can’t make the walk tomorrow. I was looking forward to it, but I now have an appointment I can’t change.
Enjoy the walk.
Don

A lovely walk today in amongst the beautiful wild flowers. 11 walkers and 2 dogs. We shortened the walk a little to avoid the bee hives so no mishaps.
We all enjoyed a very nice al-fresco lunch at the cafe in the village after the walk. I had some very nice photos but am unable to upload them so you will just have to imagine how nice it all was.
