Hi
Le Cro (opposite the Wolf) for coffee and wine tasting with tapas (something a bit different from the herd!!) and without doubt the Wolf for a World class dinner.

We love A Gale especially the chateaubriand for 2 which is cooked at your table ! But you will put on weight the portions are huge , also their Piri Piri prawns are delicious. O India or Haweli for a great Indian , O Stop for sardines overlooking the beach is again another favourite . Also enjoy the fish at the one on the in road before the market - can't remember the name ! We are out again in Sept can't wait and are hoping to try Taste for the first time , also want to try Maximes but with so much choice and only 8 nights hard to fit in all the ones we like plus adding new ones!

How may times do we have to do this old 'chestnut' - surely somebody can come up with something more original

Hi All,
Theres too many good ones to mention!!
Personal favourites (& in no particular order...apart from A Gale!)...
1. A Gale
2. Elle & Ella
3. O Algar (At Benegil)
4. Primavera
5. Villa Medici
6. O Indiano
Gonna give Ma Ja's & Happys a bash this year as well...we've heard plenty of really good reports!
We also used to go to...is it called Julio's?....we've not been there for a good few years though now...we heard it had gone a bit downhill???
I can honestly say that I've not really had a bad meal in any of the restaurants we've been in....& thats a lot of them!
Cheers,

You won't get fish any better than at Jardim do Farol up just past Rocha Brava
Re: Best places to eat in Carvoeiro
reading these posts I think every restaurant in town has been nominated
which is great, we have a wonderful array of nice places to eat,
EXCEPT Bom Bord, I've only ever seen 1 table busy in there, anybody ever been in?

Re: Best places to eat in Carvoeiro
We have been in Carvoeiro for 15 years so thought we would share our favourites. They are in no particular order because they are all different.
Primavera
Very good quality, the staff make you feel very welcome and you always feel like you have had a night out when you have been here.
Bon Bon
When you want fine dining this is the place to visit. For a special occasion this restaurant can't be beaten. Nuno is a great owner/maître de and explains all the wine with patience and experience. (Not too expensive considering the ambience)
Terroir
Lovely little place to eat when you want something a bit different. A great place to go and learn about Portuguese wines and port. Trendy vibe going on here.
Rafaiols
This is a firm favourite of ours. Fabulous fresh food always, complimented with the best vegetables in town, you won't see a frozen chip here! Varied menu and a good inexpensive wine list. Huge terrace, perfect for alfresco dining. Log fire inside for those cooler nights. Friendly staff, parking, what more do you want.
There are plenty of other good restaurants in the area but these four are our favourites and they are the ones that we keep returning to.

It's just before Rocha Brava on the main road, it's run and owned by the same peeps.
