Best places to eat in Carvoeiro

Post by Margarida »

hi everyone - thanks for all your feedback about the bars in Carvoeiro!
This month it would be great if you could share with us - which is your favourite restaurant to eat in when you are in Carvoeiro (or the local area)?
With so many people coming to Carvoeiro for the first time at this time of year it would be great to hear your suggestions and why you love these restaurants so much!

For breakfast and a light lunch or snack, we love Jomar on Rua dos Pescadores. Lovely family owned bar/restaurant and we have become regulars twice a year when we arrive in CVO. I drink rum and they didnt have Havana Especiale and actually went out and bought it for me, lovely food and all home cooked. Sometimes, we even purchase a take away for the beach. Extremely reasonable with polite, courteous staff.

Dinner usually Ele Ela or Taste, again fantastic staff and beautiful food, only thing at times Ele Ela can be somewhat rushed!! We are looking forward to O Boteca in Sep and will try Terroir.

Without a doubt, Happys. Always a party atmosphere, a great laugh, good food and wine, followed by several glasses of port.

A couple of our favourites are ma-jas, boneco, martins, haweli and jans. Plenty of other great places we really like but too many to list all of them :D

Without a doubt, La Bella Vista on the Clube Atlantico, a bit far out maybe and not cheap but a dining experience, Maximes in town even though I've criticised them in the past, and now for the Ponto Encontro (or something like that) on the ADM. :D .

I will second what Pato said about La Bella Vita , without a doubt the best fine dinning place around for miles, a bit expensive but well worht it.

I wonder if the owners of Maximes know they had a famous night club on Standishgate named after them

Original Stone Steak House (for fun eating) and O Salmao (for a proper meal with veggies and stuff rather than just chips!) at Monte Carveoiro. Ma-Ja's for great food and super hospitality - Mark will always go out of his way to do something for the kids even if it is not on the menu!
