Try Leroy Merlin I am sure they would have something. There is also a place in Lagoa just by the bus station at the top end of the car park, but not a great selection.

Hi Lucylu

If you really want a real fire then ask Geoff from http://www.firesofportugal.com/uk/ to have a look to see what is possible. After all a flue is not too expensive. Selkirk (one of the best) can be bought for under £100 per metre so why not at least find out what your options are? Licy did not have a flue/chimney but now has a brand new log burner in her lounge (see elsewhwre on CVO.com).

E-mail for Geoff is sales@firesofportugal.com and his mobile is 00351 966468190

Good luck

We have a log burner, to be honest it does not throw out much heat. Given up using it and just use the gas radiators now.

Wow

Something wrong maybe? Our Fogo Montanha V900 is rated at 18kw and heats an area of 8m x 10m up to 25 degrees!!

Log Burners are fantastic, we have a Villager A from the UK, heats our room beautifully and does not burn many Logs. Had a Pellet Stove in the UK not so efficient.
We likewise have Gas radiators, however, if we put them on, luxury, as they use a bottle of Gas in less than a week! Too expensive!

Our log burner is probably 30 years old and any heat just seems to disappear straight up the chimney! I know what you mean about the cost of gas; when we get to spend more time in Carvoeiro during the winter months we will look at replacing the burner.
