If true we will have to give it a try .
We can remember the " old Phoenix nights " one year they had a young Portuguese guy working there who somehow always got us to stop for a drink.
Being two drinks for the price of I may have had something to do with it.

Please can you ascertain if this is "as well as" or "instead of" A Tasquinha in Lagoa ?

We went to Tasquinhas opening bash last night.
The restaurant looks great, and the menu largely the same as at Lagoa.

I really hope they can make a go of it. That they can gear up successfully from 5 tables, with maybe 20 covers a night to 50 tables, and maybe 150 covers.
Its a big ask.

I hope they make it work.

Just back. Tried the new place at Monte. Pleasant evening - good food and attentive service. Like others, though, I think they'll have their hands full in replicating the atmosphere of Lagoa in such a large place. There were four couples in when we went. Having said that, I wish them every success. It was mentioned to us in passing that the Lagoa premises are likely to be turned into a Tapas bar.

sound the alarm bells; great food & wine menu, big floor area inside & out, nice furniture, cutlery etc., but precious few punters; wrong location? no press?
something is wrong, should be busier at this time of year, so I fear for them  :(

We were there one night last week. All tables inside were occupied. Yet service was impeccable, friendly and welcoming.

I just love his large tables, well spaced - and not, I suspect, because he wants to make it look full.

Went there yesterday at about 1.30pm. There was one couple, too hot outside. Took a while for anyone to come out. Cheap, definitely. Not bad food for €9.50. Not so sure I would rave about it. They had pasta with tomato and basil, sea bream, chicken wings and I think pork. Starter only vegetable soup or salad. Pudding almond torte, (pretty sweet and sickly) or chocolate cake. If they only have that many people I cannot see how they will make a living.
