Hello
Hello
Is it me, or are people not posting on our favorite forum as much as they used to?? Everyday I religiously take a look and I am increasingly disappointed by the lack of gossip. So, I'd thought I would post with some good news. In September 2013 I posted that our regular visits to CVO might well have come to an end as my lovely wife had to give up work due to ill health. At the time it was looking like she would not get a pension. I was over whelmed by the replies at the time, James Faro even said he thought we would return to CVO in 2014. Well, I am delighted to be able to say Liz got her ill health pension. A decent monthly income and a lump sum that is more than enough to pay of our mortgage. So, this together with a very generous inheritance from my lovely mother in law who passed away in January means funding at the Lamb Household is very healthy and our regular visits to CVO will long continue. Plus, Liz's health is okay (ish!!) Being away from the classroom has improved her general health slightly. We return to CVO at the end of March with further trips already being planned AND a five week tour on New Zealand over Christmas and New Year. I really do not want to come across as gloating, I just wanted to post with some good news and thank everyone again for their kind words back in September - James Faro, you must be physic. Best wished to everyone

Lamby, such good news, in a round about way that you are coming back to CVO. Gary and I reitre there permanently end of July but are making a visit 21st March to 30th March if you are around then? If not then there will be no missing you next time as we will be calling CVO our home.

Re: Hello
Hi Gary & Gaynor. Wow!! More good news - it must be infectious! Going to live in CVO, now that IS living the dream. Fantastic news, I am really pleased for you both. That means we won't miss each other in the future when Liz & I visit CVO. Gary had mentioned a beer in Harry's Bar on Saturday evening (29.3.14). We will have just arrived but a visit to Harry's has been mentioned by Liz so might catch you there.
xx

Re: Hello
I am delighted to read such great news Lamby. Your health is your wealth but a decent pension, lump sum and inheritance is just the icing on the cake. Here's to lots more positive news in the future

Lamby
I agree with you. People are definitely not posting as much as they used to. This is my favourite forum too and I enjoyed the banter. Not sure what has happened....

Ps nice to know you have had a turn in luck. Karma

Re: Hello
HELLO, HELLO, HELLO - just booked our flights for our yearly visit in August x Counting down the weeks and also the years till our youngest has left school and can come out of school holidays and more than once a year
Re: Hello
Hi Piggywidden. Glad you've booked for a return. Believe me, you will notice a difference when you are not tied to school holidays, both on freedom of when to travel and on cost. Plus you will get to CVO at different times of the year which is a joy. Have a great holiday.

Re: Hello
Very good news for you Lamby and things can only get better!
Gary and Gaynor are going to retire this year and live in CVO? These two only left school a few years ago!
Warmest congratulations to all of you.

Re: Hello
Hi, yes I agree with lamby postings are really slow. If you look at the finance section which used to be a really good source of information from private posters and Sovereign as a sponser there is nothing since July 2102. Which if you consider all that has gone on in the last two years re rental, licences, tax etc is a real let down. I now find Expats Portugal more informative and at times amusing.

Re: Hello
Oh well. I guess "you can't have everything". All weather web sites are saying rain virtually everyday we are in CVO. We arrive 29.3.14 for eight days and it looks like rain all the time. I am disappointed but I guess I would still rather be in CVO in dodgy weather than sat at my desk in work.
