Webcams - it looks very quiet
Re: Webcams - it looks very quiet
Maybe our renter was happy to give a discount to 2 adults renting a 3 bed villa, swings and roundabouts I guess.

I read in the Sunday Times this week that Owners Direct have been infiltrated by fraudsters who swindled a chap from Derbyshire out of £3000 by advertising a villa they did not own. in return OD offered £700 in compensation, i suppose they automatically discounted that too!bruce wrote:I booked the villa we stayed in last month through Owners Direct, I saw the price they wanted and emailed them to see if it was available, without me asking they offered it at a discounted price, which I accepted

How awful for them!
Fortunately we had dealt with Anthony Young the villa manager previously.

It has been happening a lot for the last couple of years on direct websites. It is very easy for the swindler to copy and paste details from a bona fide website, set up a bank account and away. They can take as many bookings as they want. Advice in the Sunday times is deal with a reputable agency with credentials or credit card facilities, the credit card facilities show that the agency is pucker and passed all the stringent requirements from the credit card clearerswidge wrote:I read in the Sunday Times this week that Owners Direct have been infiltrated by fraudsters who swindled a chap from Derbyshire out of £3000 by advertising a villa they did not own. in return OD offered £700 in compensation, i suppose they automatically discounted that too!bruce wrote:I booked the villa we stayed in last month through Owners Direct, I saw the price they wanted and emailed them to see if it was available, without me asking they offered it at a discounted price, which I accepted
