Transportation Needed for guests

Post by Smile in the sun »

Can anyone help: Elderly parents (in 70's) coming to stay at Villa in Carvoeiro June. Don't want my father to drive so need a driver for them. (English Speaking).
Would need collection from airport on arrival.
Trip to Intermarche.
Day trip to Lagos (drop off and pick up later)
Day trip to Alvor (drop off and pick up later)
Return trip to Airport for departure flight.

What would prices be?????

Also for general everyday trips into village can anyone give me name and number of good reliable taxi. They will have mobile and are quite active. Will enjoy the walk to village occasionally but not the uphill return.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

If they are active, they will have no trouble with excellent bus service. They would probably need to change at Portimao for Lagos. They could also spend some time in Portimao and maybe do the boat trip up to Silves, tide permitting. A taxi to Intermarche for the shopping.

Get real Laser.....elderly people arent going to rely on the buses.
A tame local taxi driver would seem to be the answer.

One we have used is Internation taxi 925841130. Nice guy, but there are probably cheaper around.
My elderly family dont paricularly worry about the cost....just reliability, and friendliness

Mrs LB is disabled and would not be able to get down the hill to town, let alone up. We have no trouble with the bus. Anyway, I didn't say rely on the bus, I did suggest a taxi for shopping but the trip to Portimao or Laos would be pretty easy going on the bus and an experience, as they go round the houses and you get to see parts you would normally miss.

Hi Smile,

You could try Bravo Tur - 351289 542 410. We've been using them for over 20 years now - they are competitively prices and the owner Stuart is english. They do day trips as far as I know and all the drivers speak english.

Hello,

I am certain I can help you with all of your requirements for your parents in June. I am British and have been in the Algarve on and off since 1965! I speak Portuguese and have had a lot of experience lookng after and being a companion to the elderly. If you still need help could you let me have your email address and a phone number and I will ring you.

Many thanks.
Jane.
