Easyjet Stansted Airport

Post by MaisieK »

Flights to Faro for next year in April onwards, including Easter, have been available to book
from all UK airports, Luton, Gatwick etc for about 2 months but nothing available from
Stansted after 4th April. This seems very odd to me but I am wondering if Easyjet are
waitingto see how many book from Southend airport which is new for Easyjet and then not
have as many flights from Stansted. Has anyone got any ideas of what is going on?

It only seems to be the flights to Faro that are being held back all other destinations
are available. very odd.

Bad news I am afraid........

I have just received an e-mail from Easyjet confirming that the Faro flights from Stansted are being transferred to Southend as from April 2012.

That means there now no flights by Easyjet out of East Anglia to Faro.
That just leaves Ryan Air.....or Gatwick/luton

Southend is the arse end of Essex....close to London, but only accessible from east anglia if you go all the way down to the M25, around the M25 and out on the A13

Southend airport might be good if you live in south essex, or east London, but if you live in Norfolk, Suffolk or Cambridge, it'll be quicker to go to Luton, or even carry on the M25 to Gatwick.

A decision by Easyjet that looks toward customers based in east London, not East Anglia....but then again....we are thinner on the ground

What rubbish! You need to buy a new sat nav.

From East Anglia travel down the A12 to Chelmsford bypass then take the A130 towards Southend/Basildon then A127 to Southend. No need to go anywhere near the M25 nor A13.

If you want to reach the airport by train it has a new station "Southend Airport" on the Liverpool St to Southend Victoria line (from East Anglia change at Stratford).

The airport is run by Stobarts and has a new terminal opening for the Easyjet flights they promise 10 minutes max to check-in.

Southend, is still the arse end of Essex.....
A hell of alot further from Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambs, and going all that way down the A12....which is an awful road, just isnt on.
Its also over an hour further to travel according to Tom-tom

Why would anybody want to go all the way down to Liverpool Street or Stratford from Norwich....more or less passing Stansted on the way, then changing trains to go down to Southend?
If you have to travel all the way down to London, you may as well change trains and continue down to a proper airport at Gatwick.

A good decision for Southeast London, and south Essex.......a crap one for the rest of us.

great 'innit. Luverly Jubberly I say Rodders. Enjoy your trips through the East Anglia countryside to Sarfend, down the A12, across the A130 and out on the A127, and still be in your beloved East Anglia. Arse end of Essex Brucie? Never know you might pick up a bonus there. For me, I can't wait.

We havn`t had an email from Easyjet about this we had one yesterday but only saying they
have got a sale on. We are really fed up if this is the case, Luton is not easy to get to and always
congested when you get near the airport. I just had a feeling that something funny was going on
when all the other flights were released and nothing out of Stansted. :( :( :(

We have always said that we would never fly with Ryanair again after an awful flight to
Poland but we have just booked to return from Faro on 1st May with them as they are now
the only flight to Faro out of Stansted. They have a flight every day of the week until the
23rd October after that I think they have 3 flights a week, Sunday, Wednesday and Friday.
We are just as fed up as everyone else about this but I guess landing fees are probably
cheaper at Southend airport. :( :( :(
