i ate here last week for the first time, excellent Cataplana & fresh fish of the day, beautiful views out over Benagil beach. Benagil now is home to my 3 favourite restaurants around, O'Algor, O'Litoral (despite the owner being a bit pushy telling you what to order) and Casa Lamy.

Has anyone else eaten here? Looking for some recommendations for our 2 week stay. Did you experienced guys conclude that the original post was genuine after all?

We went there for lunch on our last visit, only had snack type lunch but what we had was very good and reasonably priced. It is a beautiful spot to sit outside and admire the view and as so close to the sea you get a nice breeze on those really hot days.

We have vowed to go back for an evening meal next time we are out.

This is one of our favourites restaurants,we usually go on our last night, and we bring all our guests there. The service is good and the setting is wonderful.

Excellent - thanks for the advice. We went along tonight, but sadly they are closed on Mondays! Our nearest available was O Litoral which was excellent (I think maybe a change of owner in the past few years?)
I shall be publishing somewhere on this site our complete review from our 10 day stay - we have been fairly satisfied with most of the restaurants we visited so far.....

We ate here on Saturday evening - we were a little apprehensive as they was only one other table occupied both indoors and outdoors. The service was good (understandably!), food very good and the wine - the only item which we did not take to was the "firewater" served to us as the end of the meal. We would certainly go back again on our next visit.

He's a new member and all three of his posts (to date) are on this one restaurant. His first one reads like an advert . . .. but I may be wrong.

Well finally, we didn't get to try Casa Lamy. For the last night of our 10 day stay we decided on a totally democratic process for choosing the last restaurant, and Casa Lamy just lost out to A Gale on our voting process (AV or something similar). I shall post our full reviews in the next few days - not sure which thread to go for......
