Restaurants with sea view

Post by sanreen »

Could I please have suggestions for nice restaurants in or around Carvoeiro, preferably with sea view for a special meal. Would like somewhere with a varied menu not only a fish restaurant. Your suggestions would be appreciated.

Bistro Algar Seco - turn left towards Algar Seco and it is on your left - part of Algar Seco apartments.
Good food and superb sea views.

Depends how special the meal is Maureen if its very special a trip to Villa Joya in Gale beach which is the only 2 star michelen star restaurant in the Algarve is expensive but has a fab view if you book the overnight package with the dinner it works out about the same as getting a taxi there and back plus of course your seven course menu or Vila vita park has one michelen star. Go on Maureen treat Sandy !!! Cheers Murray

Vila Joya is on the road to our favourite beach, a snip at about €350 a night, though this does include dinner. It also has a lovely beach bar set up as a bedouin tent which you can access from Gale beach.

Unfortunately Carvoeiro is not blessed with good restaurants with seaviews, my personal choice would be Caneiros beach I think.

You could try the recently refurbished Nau Bar on Praia Grande at Ferragudo. Haven't eaten there myself but have heard good reports.

If you want a great sea view from an outside terrace try O'Algar in Benagil. We have been going there for years and never tire of the view. The food is good with plenty of fresh fish choices and the prices are reasonable. We particularly like lunchtime when you can have the full menu choice or just a capuccino and a slice of cake. The chocolate mousse is particularly good.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that O'Algar has plenty of non fish choices. The mixed kebab which is served on a skewer hanging above the plate is very good.

If you like Indian food, try the Raj at Hotel Garbe, Armacao de Pera. Lovely outside terrace, on cliff top over the sea. Think it is only open for dinner and closed on Monday nights
