According to the interview in Inside magazine with Domingos the owner of Villa Medici, he has bought Primavera just a few doors up from Villa Medici and hopes that this will be the successor of Villa Medici which will remain open to the end of the Summer. Primavera will be completely renovated with a larger interior to give a more "trattoria" style feel to the restaurant.

The question being asked is where the previous Primavera people are opening their new restaurant. Domingo told us it was going to be at Boa Vista - but an initial flurry of building activity has now fizzled out. The earlier comment regarding the Camara holding things up is probably credible - nothing new there really.

The 'old' Villa Medici is being handed back to the owner at the end of this season (as mentioned) as his rent demands were somewhat off the scale. The name Villa Medici belongs to Domingo and is being taken with him when he eventually opens the 'new' Villa Medici (previously Primavera).
