Re: Carnival
What are the dates?
Re: Carnival
Tuesday 16th February is carnival day, which is the same as our shrove tuesday. It is also usually celebrated on the previous weekend, normally Sunday in Carvoeiro.
Re: Carnival
When we have been there it has been on the Tuesday? A friend who lives there has said to us that the Carnival is on the Tuesday 16th this year?

Re: Carnival
I think the kids fancy dress parade is on Sunday. We are hoping to get there in time.
Re: Carnival
will ask Mum to try and find out some times, not sure where she got info she Tex this morning
Re: Carnival
If it is around the square, be careful not to break an ankle, as the new road around the area is full of potholes. The 'marble' tiles they laid last year are all breaking up and the Camara have just filled the cracks with sand.
Re: Carnival
Mums latest news is parade Sat and Sunday and Tues, but cannot seem to get any times?
Re: Carnival
There is a parade on sunday afternoon and another tuesday afternoon. There was a board advertising events on the round about near the tennis club but I was driving so didn't read all the times. If I get a chance i'll look again and report back.

Re: Carnival
When we were all discussing the progress(?) in the square during the summer, I seem to remember predicting that those marble flagstones which were more suited to pedestrian traffic would soon suffer under the weight of the heavy lorries and coaches - from what 'soulman' says it's already happening!
