Thanks for that info Peter..Im beginning to realise how much I still have to learn on the old PC!
I was going to start a new topic about language/pronunciation etc but thought Id stick with this one.
Question? How do you pronounce 'Faro'? Ive heard it as Faro as in 'Far' or Faro as in 'arrow' ....Or ..by one man I met on hols from Cumbria..he called it 'Fairo'..which was a new one on me! But it was their first trip to Portugal and all was new to them. Itold him we were eating 'Piri Piri'that evening..and I said how nice it was and that he should try it.
Next day when we met them..he said.."How was the chicken pele pele"...I immediately thought of the famous footballer!
I asked the same about 'Silves' once and had a few different replies..most common used was 'Silvsh' ..or ' Silvesh'.I use the former..but dont know if this is correct?

Bit like us and the U.S suppose....you say eether and I say either!
