Sorry to be so dim but can you explain again where it is, as I don't live in that area I am a bit confused. When you said the first turning left after the big hotel did you mean the road that goes towards Benagil or is there another one before there and then where is it after that?????

Would like to try it in August when we are out, we have three weeks this year so plenty of time to try some new places.

Lesley, if you look at the map on this site for Areias Dos Moinhos, it's next door to the reception. The first turning on the left going up the hill is about 100yds past A rede, follow this past bubbles until you get to a junction with an island, turn right, then first left and there you are. We used this restaurant twice this month when we were there and many more times for drinks. There food is good but if you don't like sauces, check before you order. 3 course lunch with a choice is 7 euro. Large beer is 2.20euro

It was a supermarket, a bar, a coffe shop and now a resturant. It may have been a bar before the supermarket and after, not sure!

Mike, thank you, know I know where it is, when we were still having work done on our place I stayed at a b&b place on the left hand side just as you turn up that road, run by a German lady.

Will try it in August, would it get very busy at that time do you think?? I expect we will need to book?

I'm so glad it's opened up again, it was a positive asset to the area and was a huge disapointment to me and friends when the bar closed down, I hope the present owner makes a successs of the venture and I'll certainly patronise his business when I'm there
