How about a review about where you spent Christmas dinner in Carvoeiro,
it would be very useful for those of us planning to be there in 2009

Xmas dinner
We ate at Maximes Xmas day it was FANTASTIC! So good we booked the following night on the spot so we could try the normal menu....full restuarant review of our trip to follow shortly! It was also so nice to meet several members of this forum in Boa vista bar on boxing day, thanks to Ed and Morag for the invitation! Happy New Year to you all!
Christmas Day
We enjoyed our very first Christmas in our home in Carvoeiro. Fantastic! Enjoyed a very superb Christmas Day Lunch at No Patio in Lagos. Absolutely fantastic and will definitely be going again next year. Sorry we didnt get to meet up with any forum members again. Happy New Year everyone.
We had a great Christmas dinner, the turkey & ham from Apolonia in Gale were delicious, as were all the veg from the same, & the chipolatas from Blue Rock though rather bready had a really good flavour. Smoked salmon courtesy of above was absolutely delicious, some of the best I've tasted, had it Christmas eve, Christmas day & Boxing day. Yummy!

I have heard so many hit and miss stories with Blue Rock that I thought I would play it safe and buy all my meat from Intermarche. I was not at all disappointed.
I bought a huge turkey breast (I don't eat the dark meat and a whole turkey is a waste for us) I cut it into three joints (froze two) and cooked one on Christmas Day with the left overs for Boxing Day, one I cut into strips and used it for rice and pasta dishes and the third I cooked on New Years Day. All in all very good value and no waste.
