The price

Post by martin »

Many years ago there was a tv show abut one business man who wanted 1.5 million to develop his firm, he approached a venture capitalist and was granted his money. However the tv critic the next day wrote he was puzzled why at the end of the show did he get only 950.000 not the 1.5 million, but then he noted "there must be a lot of expenses being a venture capitalist ."

So we come to now to our bailout here and find that our pals the troikas are charging over 650 million in fees..nice work if you can get it!

the old story of owing the bank £1 and you are in trouble and owing the bank £1,000,000 and the bank are in trouble springs to mind with the greek bailout

very simply Ireland and Portugal (and maybe later Spain,Italy, France and Belgium will try and sort out what they owe, the Greeks had absolutely no idea, no ability no intention, not method etc etc of paying back the €300 billion they owed, so who was in the most trouble - the Greeks or the banks/eurozone/world economy? so Greece gets a 50% writedown and the banks and world markets breath a sigh of relief.

why I don't know.

the Greeks won't be paying back the other 50% anyway.

not now,not ever - never (from Rowan and Martin's laugh in :) )

sometimes 'Irish' jokes are funny and sometimes the aren't that funny
I don't know what catagory this falls into. :o

this little gem surfaced today.

I must have been awful stupid in school because I could never obtain a degree in accountancy yet somewhere down the lines these guys managed to misplace €3,600,000,000 and somebody found it today. Irish joke or what?

Priceless.

obviously finding 'accounting errors' is the new black.

the Greeks have been given a few days notice now, so it will be very interesting ( ) to see how much they find in their accounting error
