MOANING BAR OWNERS

Post by shawchele »

Im getting tired of bar owners moaning that they are not getting enough customers in their bars but what do they do about it,absolutely nothing its the same old guitarists playing the same old songs night after night, but there is a light that shines brightly and that is daniel at mungos, every night the music has a different theme,i called in friday saw a fantastic guy singing classic songs really good night,so full credit daniel at least you are making an effort

Isn't that what Crabtree used to say when he entered Rene's cafe?

Yes I have heard some bar owners on about the lack of punters coming through the door in recent times. t's one thing opening up a business but to be successful at it takes a bit of on going creativity to keep people coming through the doors and not just the odd bowl of stale nuts with your beer. We are flying out this evening and looking forward to visiting our usual haunts. Agree that Mungos def. has the edge over the music scene at the moment for a small bar they really try and put on good local talent and with welcoming, friendly bar staff it make s for a pleasant evening.

I take it that it is these moaning bar owners who have kept their prices high as well!!. Whats the average price for a large beer? Reduce the prices and you will get more people in.

What do you mean by "have kept the prices high?" Most of the bars have maintained the beer prices the same for more than 5 years whilst the price for the barril has constantly gone up withut being reflected on the prices. How can they make any profit putting down the prices?

So lets hope the owners have kept some capital aside in order to weather the storm, lets hope the owners are sorry they stayed with the same supplier and will seek new ones, lets hope the owners realise that there are bars in and around Carvoeiro that sell at between 1.50 and 2.50 and appear to be very happy about it. Off there tomorrow so will not be able to reply on this in the near future, but to say there has been no increase in five years would suggest they should have reserves in cash but no negotiating skills (as yet)!
