Island Café at Presa da Moura

Just returned from 2 weeks in CVO, went to Island Cafe 3 times, salads -gorgeous flavours,burgers- great,tuna lovely. Would thoroughly recommend this place!!

If only some of the restaurants in CVO would read the forum, perhaps if they knew how Island Cafe was rated by us that use their establishments, they would realise it is time to " up their game ", it isn't good enough to serve up a small portion 'cos we think it's posh nosh!! David

Agree entirely David. If Island Cafe can find excellent quality ingredients like the sushi quality tuna that I ate, why can't the other "quality" restaurants. I've given up eating tuna and swordfish in other restaurants in CVO because it is always disappointing. Hope it succeeds as it enters the winter season. We will do our bit by returning tomorrow evening.

Tried the less expensive end of the menu last night - calamari followed by burgers. Calamari cooked in a superlight batter, and burgers cooked exactly as requested. They are open until December 16th.

We had a really good lunch last Thursday, the Burgers were really good, worth the extra cost overall, and will def go again

Visited several times last week and I believe this place is already a firm favourite. The quality of the food was superb. I had the best salad I've ever had - chicken and walnut - and apparently the baby back ribs were a delight.
The design of the place is exceptional, clean and sparkling and restrooms were top notch. I actually couldn't fault a thing.
....and if you have a short drink...the glasses are gorgeous. I'm on the hunt for the same oval glasses.

Visited 3 times last week and can only agree with the previous excellent reviews. The burgers were honestly the best I think I have ever tasted. The tuna was superb and the calamari served in newspaper was a lovely blast from the past.
Spoke to the owner and they are closing (I think ) in mid-Dec and reopening on Feb 14th.

There were 23 of us who went for our Christmas meal there last Friday evening. Everybody agreed that the food was delicious. I started off with the three mini bruschettas and was going to have the tuna for main but they'd sold out so I had the baby back ribs instead ... gorgeous! I ordered a chocolate mousse cake for afters, I've never seen such a huge desert, couldn't manage it all. For three course meal, cocktails, copious amounts of wine and coffees it came to around 35 euros per head, not that expensive for such a fantastic meal. Also the restaurant is no smoking which is always a plus.

anyway it sounds fab so next time i am there i will make sure Biffa treats me!
