airport off parking

Does anyone know of anywhere that you are able to keep your car at the airport or close by ready for picking up when you come over. Friends of ours do this in Spain so don't have to keep paying out for a hire car every tme they come over.

Garages and villa managers in Almancil do it for their own clients but I don't know if they would for other people.

Some villa owners have someone from their villa management company ride with them to the airport and drive the car back to the villa, then meet them when they next come over.

There is usually no problem with this since Portuguese car insurance is normally "any driver" For the cost of a couple of hours wages it is cheaper than parking or taxi/airport transfers

That sounds ok but we don't really have villa management any other suggestions

Why not ask the airport what rates they do for long term. Most airport car parks have an area where residents have special prices for long term parking.

A couple of years ago they used to do an annual ticket for about €600 in park L2 but I'm not sure if it is still available. Their current monthly rate is about €130 in the same park

Maybe the police tow away rates are less than the car park?

price for 12 months is €745 (incl cost of plastic card) to enter and leave as often as you wish

thank you for your replies - 745 euros seems a bit high it may pay us to leave the car at the villa and just get a taxi there and back.
Now the next question is how much do second hand suzuki jeeps go for in Portugal or something similar and also road tax etc.

Road tax depends on age and engine size ranges from around €10 to €300
