Hi Ellie. I do have a very large garden and Feb sounds good, would you come alone, how long for, on what basis, and what about the big fella.

Hi again ellie, sorry about the triple echo. I must confess that my intentions are not honourable towards you. Having just been divoreced myself I do not want to hurt another marriage. Yes Colombos is now a haunt of mine but only since seeing you. You obviously have a good partnership and i do not want to damage it, any way he is a bit bigger than me. God Luck.

Being married--doesnt stop you having friends--youve been honest enough to say youre intentions arent "honourable" --that in itself --makes you honourable.Would like to say--that I feel very flattered by your words-you sound nice bloke.
I have a feeling that I "saw" you -on one or two evenings---Think I was sitting up top of stairs--wereyou at table by door--I have a feeling I did-----
C.M.----Whats that mean? I did bit of latin but cant remember hardly any!
Except the verb for "love" --amo--amas--etc --of course!
Cuckoos --Bunnies---roll on Spring !
Have a lovely day, Ellie.

Just me being cynical!

Hide the bunnies in case somebody wants to boil them ! (Fatal attraction)

Hold your hands over your face and shout out as loud as you can "Cuckoo, Cuckoo" whilst opening your hands to reveal your face as though it was the doors of a clock opening. This is the only way in my household to intimate that somebody is a couple of stadiums short of a tournament!!!!!!! 8)

Translation

Post by Steen Jakobsen »

NIL SATIS OPTIMUM
Some controversy has always surrounded our School Motto, because of its ambiguity.

Some translate it as "Nothing but the Best" (Nil Satis Nisi Optimum). Although an incorrect translation, it gives us an insight into the foundation of this school. Working in a school which openly dedicates itself and its work to God, it is right that we work to our very best. Nothing else will do, for it is God we serve.

The slightly more correct translation, "There is no sufficient best", or "Your best is not good enough", gives us further challenge - our task here, whether pupil or staff, is to improve the level of our best effort. If we work at our best, but do nothing to improve on it, what do we gain?

It would seem that the motto, and it's twofold translation, give us solid and demanding standard by which to live our life in school.

When I attempted to translate 'nil satis nisi optimum' I came up with initially ' not sufficient except the best', which I took to mean ' only the best is good enough'.

Maybe this a very obscure reference to George Best, and could bring the topic back to disappearing world, as an oblique thought on his liver(s)

The Best

and wasnt he just--George best----in his day and at his peak--absolutely Ace--no.one--a dream to watch--untouchable.
I lament his decline--its sad to see--wonder if his son has inherited any of his talent?

P.S Thanks for info on your old school motto Steen and thanks to C.M re; bunnies! Completely forgotten about that film! and there was me thinking of them hopping around amongst the spring flowers--you must think me"Cuckoo"!
lets get back to original topic--Im sending photos off tomorrow --to friend in Algarve with letter attached --asking if she would like to participate in this subject.I sincerely hope she will--and that she will post her opinions on here.
I know Cowboy especially will be pleased-as i believe it was his suggestion in the first place.
Jamdodger--if you wish to write to me about my stories-you can on my e-mail on Ellies Corner -homepage--but that is all that I will discuss.
I wish you well..
