As a child to get your own way you learn very quickly how to suck up to adults to get want you want and some even trying when they become adults themselves

Gambo is a very intellegent individual and I am quite sure he will make up his own mind, if and when others are trying to use his name to win over others with regard whatever their agenda may or may not be.

Frankly, I would never stoop to such depths to win or acheive any point that I was trying to make, nor try and attempt to belittle any reader on this forum. Each reader will make up their own minds to the merits of each posting.

As to whether I am a house owner and/or investor, what point are you trying to make, in otherwords spit it out, stop edging, ask the question correctly and I will give you an "honest" answer.

It is interesting to note that you do not write on any other subject other than development(s) and similar applies to at least one other person. What boring lives you must have. In otherwords,if you are truly seeking a property, there are so many outlets for you to find properties, without almost a daily inventory of developments from one end of the Algarve to the other on this forum. Why not buy the Algarve Property Mag, it is full of properties and/or developments for sale and also a lot of very interesting information, but it would seem to me that you are already well informed?

denniscash wrote:Try not to be so negative about things happening around you.. Its good to hear peoples opinions, but come-on we are discussing a topic here honey.... 8)

Also as far as i know what is concerning water, "nightrider" there will be established soon on the Algarve a system that will convert salt water to a usefull water.. just like in the Madeira Island.. so i wouldnt worry about that..
Perhaps you need to employ a PR person yourself dennyboy...NO ONE CALLS ME HONEY...how f**king patronising :x  Who do you think you are? I would normally say I have a very good sense of humour and rarely abuse anyone on this forum but you have pissed me off this afternoon and people, who do that get to see the worse side of this normally easy going woman...believe me :x

Perhaps you should read the posting on desalination on the general forum posted a couple of weeks ago to see the possible NEGATIVE consequences of that too!!!!

Please feel free to get references from all my friends and aquaintances from all over Europe and I am sure they will tell you I am far from a negative person, but a proactive person, who gets things done and hopefully a caring person with regard to my fellow man. I give up a lot of my free time helping people out with problems here. Is that negative? I don't think so. I could shrug my shoulders like most and let things go but if everyone did that, where would we be eh? I couldn't give a toss about your investments and developments...good luck with them but please stop ramming them down the throats of all us daily.

I hope you will be very happy living in your legoland house with your high walls and fencing and not enough room to swing a cat, counting your euros. Enjoy

Having started this topic I don,t feel as if I have really ascertained the true feelings about the affect of these NEW More expensive developments on the area.
I am convinced that 90% of any of us who buys a property does so in the hope/expectation that it will rise in value and that be it the Algarve or Aldershot any local developments that either raise or reduce the future values are of obvious interest.
If you want to call this invesment , then it is.
If you are against said developments on genuine environmental grounds, or convinced socio economic reasons then these opinions are to be respected.
But all to often ( no matter where we live ) its because of of how we see our liitle world being changed.
Ask you self why did I move from the crowded UK are these good enough reasons to want to stop others joining you or taking advantage of the market that has seen the value of most algarve properties rise dramatically in recent years.
Yes we do have a personal interest in that we hope that the " upmarket " developments will have a positive affect on the area and eventual value of our planned property.
And 90% of those who reside in these areas think the same.

Denniscash  Email me for a reference :!: I count myself lucky enough to be called an acquaintance of Bruxinha she is far from negative and above all is one of the most kind and helpful people I know, I look forward to seeing your apology.

Your comments were patronising and Bang out of order :!:

I live close to the new development next to Vila Nova, and the large new villas opposite, and could live quite happily without either of them. The area was fine as it was or I wouldn't have come to live here!

We live in a small village in a development of less than 10 years old.
The inhabitants at the time the original plans were submitted were very anti, very anti.

Now, there is a thriving village school, cricket club, village club, village shop reprieved plus above average rises in values as it is thought locally to be a nice place to live.

Personally we do not like the rash of extensions that have been built in recently to accomodate growing families but we have benefited from all of the above.

I am sure that there were those who " could do without " BUT I am not aware of any of the original anti,s who actually moved.

It is an un avoidable fact that the very things that attracted many to Portugal in past years will attract many more of us in years to come.
Is it better for you that development is done well and at a premium than in the way that the spanish costas have been ruined.

Like it or not it is going to happen.

I am sorry, I thought I might have calmed down by now but I am still spitting blood this evening and have in fact just got more angry. If you wanted to wind me up dennyboy you have certainly succeeded :x Congratulations.

I write posts about the possible environmental concerns, socio-economic considerations and the things prospective buyers should be careful of here. Knowledge and information I have gained by a) bothering to learn at least a working knowledge of Portuguese b) by researching and investigating things c) talking to many different people; local Portuguese and various nationalities that live here d) by spending A LOT of time voluntarily helping people solve problems, sometimes quite serious problems involving large sums of money and YOU have the audacity to patronise all of my considered thoughts and bleat on and on about a load of ugly buildings you think are great! I don't recall ever saying I am ANTI development. I am merely putting forward all angles to this topic that I feel any decent and sensible person should consider.

You seem to prefer your little boys club. The word "you guys" being mentioned in one of your earlier posts. My good friend Gambrinus writes a realistic view/risks of investment and renting potential and he is called "wise". I write a realistic view of potential risks in buying property here and hopefully helpful hints to avoid them, as well as posting interesting articles written by engineers on desalination etc etc and I am told to COME ON HONEY :x :x :x :x

Eco/spider won't be the only one sparring for a fight outside Sullys and I haven't even tried the chilli peppers yet

OK nightrider and others.

What sort of algarve do you want to see ?

How do you expect it to happen ?

It is also an unavoidable fact that if all developments stopped the demand for resales would go through the roof .
Which would be good news for those who currently own property would it not ?

My husband & I are looking to buy a home in the algarve, but we are looking for somewhere in which to invest our lives not our money. Over the many years of our coming to Carvoeiro we have watched many of the soulless developments go up & thats fine - for the soulless that want to buy them, but these developments should not be allowed to overrun the place. A country, wherever it is, is more than a financial investment.

Wow, thats some actions over a night..i m astouned that some people cant sleep over a night worrying about a little comment..

I am sorry to see you so upset Bruxinha..but i still didnt change my position on commenting some of your posts. They still seem negative for me, and your approach is not on a bright side. You comment that everything is bad and everything is not the way it should be. Of course there are things like that, and those things we are not in power (as average people) to change.. therefore i am trying to make my comments positive to all sides.

and what regards investments, you will always win whilst still investing money in real estate in the Algarve. And whilst i am in m "legoland" i will always rent out my invested property 20 weeks of the year to tourists that love Carvoeiro. And guess what, after 15 years time my rent will not only bring me 25,000 euros a year, but will pay my financing, maintenance and the value of the apartment after 15 years. (meaning it will be for free to me!) If you dont believe me, make calculations and find out yourself..

i hope this makes your day brighter Brouxhinha

thanks again

Well Dennyboy, saw you browsing the old Forum this morning and note you didn't have the "soul" to apologise to Bruxy. At least we were all spared yet another annoucement of a NEW
DEVELOPMENT in the Algarve well that is (it would appear) from you!

Bruxy what do you think "they" have shown this forum what type of souls (or rather souless) they are. Therefore and like I suspect most sensible members/guests on the Forum, should we also now completely ignor them and with a bit of luck they will go away. Hopefully, to somewhere like Siberia, but then they will more than likely try to re-develop there and as always some poor mug will no doubt purchase.

I cannot comprehend after everything that has been said on this subject that the question AGAIN is asked "what type of Algarve to people want"!

A GOOD ENVIRONMENT FOR "US ALL". OK. GOT IT AT LAST.
