stay at quita do paraiso - any advice

hi, i wonder if you could help. we're looking at booking a 2 bed villa (details taken from this site, thanks) at the quinta do paraiso. Any suggestions/advice/recommendations

we are a family of 4 with 2 children age 4 and 7 - this will be out 3rd year visiting carvoiero - we like it!

We have previously stayed at Colina da lapa in May but this year we've gotta go in August - but for 17 nights! and Colina was way out of our price range.

How does the quinta compare?

any help much appreciated. we've also looked at monte dourada apartments, how do these fare against quinta?

We are a family of four and will be arriving at Quinta do Paraiso for the second time in mid August. It will be our 5th visit to Carvoeiro and all previous times we have always returned to the quinta paraiso even when we haven't actually stayed there. The resort in our opinion is great, its location is superb (easy walking distance to the square) and has many facillities for all the family. The outdoor pizza place is awesome. If we could we'd buy a place there. Good Luck, hope you like it as much as we do.

I do agree, Jason !! We rented for 2 years and had the opportunity to buy. QDP is a lovely place.

thanks for the replies - at the moment i have only found 2 properties to rent there. prices for August (last two weeks) are £500 and £580. Does anyone know of any other 2 bed villas that are avaialable - or can put me on to someone who knows

i have no replies regarding monte dourado - i suppose this may be because monte dourado is not as good as quinta?

also, do you think room fans are suitable rather than air con in august?

personally, in August, I would say you need at least a/c in the bedrooms for the children. I have stayed in a villa in August without a/c and found sleeping at night unbearable.

A fan in the bedroom is ok when it gets uncomfortable. as long as you switch it on of course

We have stayed in 3 different villas now in Carvoeiro in august and not one of them has had air conditioning, in fact after the first night we all switch the fans off as they can be noisey We find keeping the curtains closed during the day, and the fans on ,keeps the air moving and cool.Happy hols. Quinta has now nice apartments for sale T1 and T1+.
