Car rental, yes again.
Re: Car rental, yes again.
I think I've seen that in Stanley Road Hoylake.jeremy wrote:Good luck with this Dave - I haven't seen many of these around CVO![]()
Re: Car rental, yes again.
I have used auto rent for years. Never had a problem with them, reasonable prices and good cars.

Re: Car rental, yes again.
Rented last week for 6 days from doyouhirespain.com (yes I know but they do Faro airport as well) for £51 for 6 days. A honda Jazz. Also took out an additional excess insurance waiver from somewhere on the web for £11.95 for the 6 days (Allianz wanted £6.95/day!) you have to give a credit card for the excess for €1500 so this covers you if they make you pay for a bump etc. Have used them several times before and always find they are one of the cheapest.
Its off airport - just down the road and there is a regular shuttle bus.

Did you mean doyouspain.com or maybe something else ?
doyouhirespain.com does not seem to exist
doyouspain is a broker for many different companies.

Re: Car rental, yes again.
I just made my first booking with Steen; nice website, simple to use, simple to book, nice prices with all inclusive insurance,
we're off to a good start

Re: Car rental, yes again.
I used Steen for the first time in 6 years several weeks ago. Good car, delivered and collected from home on schedule, all good.
So just booked again for October, I think he is now more competitive now than ECH (Zest) who I have been loyal to for 6 years until the recent change in brand which seemed to be accompanied with an unwelcome hike in prices.

Have to agree with Widge, I don't believe the change from ECH to Zest has brought any benefits.
I e-mailed them to ask why RIS and Luz Cars had seemingly been dropped from their offering. They had been among my favourites. They confirmed they were no longer operating with RIS or Luz Cars, and claimed this was due to customer feedback on the age/condition of their fleet. I for one don't believe this for a minute. So, having been loyal to ECH for many years, I'm on the lookout to move my custom elsewhere.

Steen runs this website and algarvedriver, see ad at top of page. It is part of YOR. I have used them many times over the past 20 years and have no complaints. I am booked with them for next month. Why not give them a try?
Re: Car rental, yes again.
I have used YOR/Algarve Driver for over 12 years, - 3 or 4 times per year, with absolutely no issues
Re: Car rental, yes again.
We've used YOR, twice a year, for around 10 years. We usually pick up/leave car at the airport but have also had a car delivered to our villa. We have no complaints at all, would recommend.TGM wrote:Steen runs this website and algarvedriver, see ad at top of page. It is part of YOR. Re: Car rental, yes again.
Regularly used YOR via Algarvedriver link over the past 9 years. As regular hirer, I amass loyalty days which means on a couple of occasions my car hire has been for free (only applies when booking in the off-season). Have had car delivered to villa and because we in Carvoeiro area and hire in excess of six days, delivery is free.
Re: Car rental, yes again.
I also use Algarve Driver/YOR and never had any problems. My next trip at the end of this month is giving me a free weeks hire.
A couple of times I've tried a few others via ECH but always lived to regret it over things like poor cars, poor staff attitude and hidden charges.
Regarding charges Steen (other than in the July/August peak). will always price match others.
