Paying edp
Paying edp
I know you can pay edp by Multibanco but that's not an option when we are not here.
We went to the edp office to set up a direct debit but they said we had to have a habitation licence which we haven't got yet.
We have registered with edponline and I read somewhere that there should be a Pay Now button when an invoice is due but I can't see it anywhere.
It should be easy enough to make a bank transfer from our millennium account online but I can't find edp's bank a/c no. We have bills by email but no information about how to pay on them.
We tried phoning edp but all the options were in Portuguese so we couldn't understand which number to press.
Any ideas?

Re: Paying edp
There is a box at the end of your bill containing the Multibanco payment information as below:Sheila wrote:I know you can pay edp by Multibanco but that's not an option when we are not here.

Entidade 20174 (probably)
Referência xxx xxx xxx
Valor €xx,xx
The same information is used in your online banking's bill payment section. EDP's advice is as below:
Re: Paying edp
Open up your online banking. Choose Pagamentos and then Serviços. This will give you the same format as is used on the multibanco machines. Put in the details from the bill and confirm the payment.

Brilliant. Thank you. Easy when you know how.steve wrote:Open up your online banking. Choose Pagamentos and then Serviços. This will give you the same format as is used on the multibanco machines. Put in the details from the bill and confirm the payment.
Re: Paying edp
Can the property tax be paid in this way too?

Re: Paying edp
Essentially, yes. However there is a special section in your online banking for payments to the state which will require slightly different references (such as your fiscal number and a payment reference unique to each 'invoice').
Re: Paying edp
Yes. Go to Pagamentos and then to Estado. The screen has a space for the 15 digit reference from the IMI demand instead of the familiar Multibanco set up. It is very simple.
Re: Paying edp
This is where I read about the Pay Now button if I have translated it correctly but I don't see one when I sign on.RichardHenshall wrote:. EDP's advice is as below:

I have paid it OK from my bank now but I would be interested to know where this is.

Re: Paying edp
Because I'm (supposed to be) set up to pay by direct debit this payment option isn't available to me, so I can't be sure. However I have only just switched from EDPSU to EDP Comercial and as yet have had no invoices and my online banking doesn't yet show a new direct debit. The final payment on the old EDPSU direct debit was made today.
In the Pagamentos e Faturas tab I see a box containing:
A Pagar:
Valor total: 00,00 €
Valor em atraso: 00,00 €
I am speculating that the rotating symbol is a placeholder for the Pagar Já button which the system is trying to show me (because it can't find a direct debit) but is failing because there are no invoices.
That's where I would expect to see the button but it shouldn't be there for you because you've paid.
