Memory foam mattress

Memory toppers are apparently available in 2,3 or 4 inch thicknesses - any comments on which is best ?

I think ours is only 2 inches - I seem to remember my wife saying the fitted sheets would be a problem if we got thicker than that.

Having had serious back problems for years and eventually a spinal fusion, I became a great fan of memory foam matresses. Hated a Tempur one - tried one for a month and couldn't get on with it. Eventually bought a "relaxon" and then after 3 years a firmer version of the same - my daughter had the old one and is similarly enamoured. Wonderful job. We bought a similar one in UK from a discount place locally for ~ £200 and shipped to Portugal - excellent, although it was the slightly softer version, which suits my wife more. Never found them too hot.

I found the memory foam too hot, for years my late wife suffered from sciatica and she was advised to go for an orthopaedic mattress, they're extremely hard and support the body, you can as a bonus get a double mattress one side normal and the other hard, I also cannot bear foam filled pillows, give me feathers any day.

There is an excellent bed centre, The Bed Warehouse, at the Fatacil business centre, it faces onto the N125.

We needed a new bed, and did the rounds of the available bed shops. The best Portuguese one was Conforama at Guia. We found reasonable quality Portuguese beds very expensive, and the memory foam ones not the best quality.

We tried the Bed Warehouse, more or less as the last throw before buying a bed in the UK, and having it shipped out....purely on grounds of quality and cost!!

The Bed Warehouse is a British business, based in Spain, that imports British beds, quite alot of them bankrupt stock.

We got exactly what we wanted, and at a price that was far cheaper than the Portuguese retailers, and without the need to pay to import one.
We were also able to check the prices of the beds at Fatacil against the identical bed in the UK, via the internet.

We bought our Sealy mattress from the Bed Warehouse yesterday lunchtime. Delivered at 5pm but they brought the wrong size. No fuss, they went back and brought the right one in 30 minutes. When I checked the packing it had an Argos label. The catalogue price was nearly £100 more than we paid. Had a great night's sleep

Not sure what thickness our topper is in CVO, but I would recommend the thinnest one so that you don't run the risk of overheating. We've just bought one in the UK with a thin topper, and it's great. The problem is that I cannot get up for work in the morning
