Clubs to hire, Car rental

We have decided to hire Golf Clubs in March this year rather than pay the Airline extra charges - on their site they also advertise Car Hire and have quoted 84 Euros for 10 days for a VW Golf or similar - this seems very cheap - anyone know anything about them or which actual Car Hire Firms they use ?

Sounds as if they have got their golf clubs confused with their Golf cars. 84 euros sounds too cheap for 10 days car hire.
The golf shop at the end of the "in road" is a good place to hire golf equipment - he can normally be persuaded to do a good deal.

Until I was looking to hire a car for a week in March from Faro airport, I would have also thought that €84 for 10 days car hire was far too cheap. However, I have found car hire for 7 days for £22, so I would now say that €84 for 10 days sounds realistic.

Another word of caution: I saw a golfing party last summer that had booked a smallish car for the group of golfers plus all of their normal luggage plus all of their clubs (which they could either had brought with them or hired at the airport). They were then stood arguing with the car rental rep that the car was too small. The rep was saying he had no alternative and the car allocated was in line with their booking. The golfers were saying that previously they always had a free upgrade. The result was a group of golfers walking off to try to rent an MPV during the peak season without prior booking. LOL

It was through the website www.travelsupermarket.com and is with AutoEurope. There were also other companies that were offering around the same price, for example Argus Car Hire, HolidayAutos and Atlaschoice, however we will probably use AutoEurope as we want to take the car into Spain and they do not charge an excess of €30 to be able to do that.

Everyone I have spoken to about this couldn't believe it either but it's definitely true!
