Garage / Parking Space Required
Garage / Parking Space Required
Hi Everyone,
We are looking to buy a car in CVO but have no place to store it when we are not around. Do any of you wealthy land owners have space to store a car, or any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
MS

When he gets back to the UK ask Bruce Wallis as he has bought a car which he has an agreement with the people he bought from, they collect the car from the airport after he has flown back to the Uk and store it until he comes back the next time, where they will have it sitting in car park 4 waiting for him, I think the deal cost him about 260 euros (ish). Seems a good idea to me....

I bought a used car from the garage near Alcantrillia.
As LJ said....the deal is that you pay them a cash fee of 250 euros a year, and you can use their facilities for using car park 4 at the airport, and their storage facilities to store the car.
You can use the facility as many times a year as you wish, so you dont need to leave your car somewhere in CVO and pay for expensive airport transport, and your car is securely stored for you.
2 or 3 flights home, and you've more than got your 250 back over car parking or taxi transport to the airport and back.
I'm fairly sure they only do this for people who buy cars from them.
The used car lot belongs to a car hire company in Pera, and they only operate the 2nd hand car lot , selling off older hire cars, between October and April.....so if you drive past now it's deserted.
We bought an 08 Mitsubishi Colt, and are well pleased

A bit off topic but can I just ask this question. I have been told that you need to be of resident status to own a Portuguese registered car for the purpose of insurance & road tax etc to be legal, is this true? Heard many conflicting stories.

Apsolute Rubbish, as long as you have a passport and a fiscal number you can own a car here, I can name over 50 non residents who own cars here.
