Escondidinho - (the Ritze)
Any body know of a eating place called 'Escondidinho (or the Ritz) , its near the Quninta do Paraiso complex.
I've got 3 golfers to feed for a week in March (all red meat eaters and not much money) any Ideas.

Then that is the place to go to, very basic but good food altho' you do have to take pot luck as to what is being cooked, usually get a choice of two mains but starter and desert are 'as they come' you can have bread and olives, soup, main, desert, coffee and a jug of wine for about 15 Euro a head.....

If you go through PdQ past the complex up the hill round a bend or three, you go past a rough looking area on the left. Escondidinho is just along a bit on the same side. If you get to the T Juction with the mirror, you've gone a bit too far.

LJ it's only 2 years since I have been there and it looks like the price has doubled. However, still worth it thoughLesley Jean wrote:Then that is the place to go to, very basic but good food altho' you do have to take pot luck as to what is being cooked, usually get a choice of two mains but starter and desert are 'as they come' you can have bread and olives, soup, main, desert, coffee and a jug of wine for about 15 Euro a head.....

Re: Escondidinho - (the Ritze)
Sorry I think I got that mixed up, was 15 Euro for the two of us......
Re: Escondidinho - (the Ritze)
Inflation has reached the Ritz - it is now €9
Re: Escondidinho - (the Ritze)
That's more like it LJ and even at 9€ as Roy says, it's a bargain.Lesley Jean wrote:Sorry I think I got that mixed up, was 15 Euro for the two of us......

Indeed, you get good, simple food in Escondidinhos, but that´s definately not the place to have a good piece of meat. Maybe you try Casa do Bife (11,- € for a Sirloin on the stone).bjtechserv wrote:Any body know of a eating place called 'Escondidinho (or the Ritz) , its near the Quninta do Paraiso complex.

I so agree with you on this one, Casa do Bife do the best steaks and the price is always good, I don't eat that much red meat but their chicken with mushrooms or chicken with grapes is lovely and only around 9 - 10 Eurokappa wrote:Indeed, you get good, simple food in Escondidinhos, but that´s definately not the place to have a good piece of meat. Both the Pork Febras (slices) and the turkey are excellent at the Ritz and I always have Beef Wellington at Casa de Boef as very few if any do this and it has always been fantastic
