Snorkelling near Carvoeiro ?

Can anyone recommend any snorkelling sites in the area ?

There is a lot of spearfishing done in the area particularly in the small cove near the Boteco restaurant.

Full wetsuits seem to be mandatory and takes place when the wave heights are low.

My brother-in-law (who is a very keen diver) highly rated the snorkelling off the far left hand side (as you come down the steps) of Praia Grande. Shorty wetsuit is recommended unless you are as hardy (i.e. stupid) as he is.

My husband & son went snorkelling in the lagoon at Algar Seco & then my husband went under the rock formations & out to sea. He said it was very good. You also get the divers from the diving school, near the Almansor Hotel, taking people out there.
