Always had a good meal and pleasant time. Last time, Richard had a hot peice of chilli, he hates heat. We all had a good laugh and they teased him well. Yes there are better places but its still one of our favourites

Yep got it in one, Bruce, he is a big baby with spice and heat. Except of course on the golf course

Sorry but I have to be in the loathing corner ! Found it to be very average with no atmosphere the baked cheese was tasteless and came with a dollop of redcurrant jelly !
not good ! Maxines for me is by far better and lovely seating, cutlery etc

I loathe it too! I asked the chef why he bought in his sauces instead of making them fresh on the premises?

If looks could kill !!!! No denial just daggers.

Trained as a chef myself & cooked for many years professionally, this is an average restaurant at best.

I have to say, although not in Carvoeiro, No Patio in Lagos is fantastic. Martin and his team make everything themselves and desserts mmmmmm to die for. The staff are superb, attentive without being intrusive. They know their stuff and explain the specials properly, the atmosphere is great too. Definitely worth a visit

About half an hour by car. Depends on how long it takes to get out of Cvo/Lagoa!

I think the consensus is that like Gordon Browns government, L'Orange has had it's day.

You dont need to go all the way to Lagos for a good restaurant. Get away from the Rua du Farol, where the criterian is quantity and price over quality.....(and I have absolutely no problem with that), and there are several good restaurants within a 10 Km radius of Carvoeiro, several closer.
Get adventerous....try Porches, Silves, Lagoa, Benegil, Ferragudo. ....and the roads inbetween. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Whilst I agree that there are many other good restaurants not only in but also in the surrounding areas of Carvoeiro (O Lotus in Lagoa being one of them that rarely gets a mention), No Patio, although all the way in Lagos is most definitely worth a visit. It is a bit special and worth the drive for that special occasion, believe me.
