So an old favourite with a nice cafe.

A walk along the levada then up into the hills and around....NOT the big Enxerim hill, but a more gentle climb!

Duration : about 2.5 hours...last time it was almost 3 hours as I got a bit mislaid up in the hills as the bulldozers had messed up a number of junctions....and we have to come back a slightly longer route as the old track has been blocked off.

Optional Lunch : prices have gone up, last time it was 10€ for main/wine/coffee with an extra 2€ for pudding. Might be a bit more now.

Degree of Difficulty ( scale 1:5 ) : probably grade 3

Start: 10.00 .....but please arrive by 0945 if you want a coffee/order lunch.

Directions : drive from Carvoeiro to Silves, go over the bridge and turn right and follow the N124 for about 3.2 kms until you see Cafe Casa de Pasto a Norinho on your left : park in layby opposite.

It is ESSENTIAL that you indicate below if you can come and whether you want lunch, as numbers for walk will be limited to 20

Walking boots/stout trainers recommended and walking poles.

Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain...no charge, of course...I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0830 on the day of the walk.

Just to add that date amended to Monday 31 October as 29 October is the saturday we fly out...a(nother) senior moment. Graeme & Marian unfortunately have covid and aren't now coming.

Looks as if we might get a shower tomorrow, difficult to believe at moment, best to bring some light rainwear in case....

Peter joined the ranks of covid victims and couldn't come, don't know about Monique. 7 of us braved the weather, which was occassional drizzle....some had trouble getting into their capes...
Linda had a pink girlie one, Russell and Mike never bothered... We cut the walk a bit short, but still 9.2km, 2 h 8m walking, about 2h 30 mins elapsed.
