Walk Monday 13 June 2022 : Norinho/Silves hills
Walk Monday 13 June 2022 : Norinho/Silves hills
Hi
Anyone around then ? If so, a walk along the levada then up into the hills and around....NOT the big Enxerim hill, but a more gentle climb!
Duration : about 2.5 hours...can reduce to 2 hours if hot.
Optional Lunch : prices have gone up, last time it was 10€ for main/wine/coffee with an extra 2€ for pudding.
Degree of Difficulty ( scale 1:5 ) : probably grade 3
Start: 0930 .....but please arrive by 0915 if you want a coffee/order lunch.
Directions : drive from Carvoeiro to Silves, go over the bridge and turn right and follow the N124 for about 3.2 kms until you see Cafe Casa de Pasto a Norinho on your left : park in layby opposite.
GPS : 37°12'20.6"N, 8°24'38.0"W
37.2057131N 8.4116553,312W
It is ESSENTIAL that you indicate below if you can come and whether you want lunch, as numbers for walk will be limited to 20
Walking boots/stout trainers recommended and walking poles.
Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain...no charge, of course...I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0830 on the day of the walk.
Any questions , please ask (or ring 282 380015 preferably between 1800-1900 or 8am to 9am ...but not before 7 June).

and Marian, walk only.....and Wilma for lunch as well.
Re: Walk Monday 13 June 2022 : Norinho/Silves hills
Wendy and Wilma have pulled out....walk is still on, as forecast isn't as hot tomorrow. Not too sure about lunch, can decide tomorrow.
Re: Walk Monday 13 June 2022 : Norinho/Silves hills
Fortunately the temperature had fallen and there was a nice breeze : Luis had done some alterations to Norinha and now had a fancy wooden pagoda outside....even if it did cover up the sign!
Only 5 for the walk, we actually saw some cork strippers at work:
I had to admit to getting a bit lost....there had been a lot of logging and track widening , so had missed a turning, adding about half an hour to walk by the time we back-tracked ; thanks to everyone for being so understanding.
The group photo:
About 3 hours, and we had to dash off so no drink nor lunch....bit like as it was with Caroline's first walk!
See you all in the autumn.
