WALK - MONDAY 25 OCTOBER 2021 - FIGUEIRA CORK FOREST - CLOSED

Linda and Russell will be leading this walk. It is approximately 10/11 kms, about 2 1/2 hours. We head up into the village, through a cork tree forest and then out into the countryside, passing deserted ruins. Some of the paths are narrow and uneven but most are on good tracks. We will cross over the A22 a couple of times and there is a small amount of tarmac. There are not many hills to climb as it is a fairly flat walk. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing and bring a drink. There is no charge and you walk at your own risk.
The cleaner at the Social Club sometimes makes us a black coffee before the start but no milk. We will call for a drink at one of the cafes in the village of Figueira after the walk. For those wishing to stay for lunch the Cafe Ruby Sports Bar at the bottom of the village do a dish of the day for 7 euros and a large jug of wine is 5 euros.
The start time is 10:00 am and the meeting point is Cafe Sociedade Recreativo Figuerense in Figueira.
Directions: Drive West along the N125 past the Alvor turning and the Penina Golf, after approximately 2kms go under a footbridge and immediately turn right into Figueira at the sign "Polidisportivo".
