Re: Walk Monday 4 Feb 2019 : Norinho. CLOSED
Lovely sunny day, though the late arrival of Mike & Wendy made us think they had gone to the wrong starting grid : anyway, 26 walkers and 4 dogs set off , Zac apparently having pulled a muscle and was left convalescing. With Russell setting a good early pace, we, or rather I , decided we would do the Arade Barragem/Lavada walk which we usually do from Pedreira.....doing it from Norinha, could add another 50mins, but we walked fast and cut the odd corner.
Anyway, only a little out of breath we reached the barragem in good time;
Only to find the road widening had left the way down a bit of a scramble:
Back in 2h 45 mins, a very creditable performance...Sue & Trish set up a Walkers Knitting Circle:
whilst the rest of us had a beer in glorious sunshine and watched the barbie....
before 17 of us had a jolly good lunch with 12 € left over for the charity kitty.
Nicholas' Viewranger reckoned it was 13.16km at 4.5kph, see :
http://my.viewranger.com/track/details/OTYzMjAxNw==
whereas Alan's machine thought it was 12.8km at 4.75kph...but then, he did take a different/short way back!
Thanks to all for testing an new walk!...I made it 2h 45m.
