WALK - MONDAY 8 OCTOBER 2018 FIGUERAS

Posted: Tue Oct 02, 2018 3:42 pm
by Linda and Russell
Linda and Russell will be leading this walk. We will meet at 10am at Café Sociedade Recreativo at Figueras. It is approximately 9/10kms around 2 hours. There is a short vertiginous stretch uphill, some uneven ground along a levada and a steep downhill through the village at the end. Therefore it is a grade 3, medium. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing and bring a drink. There is no charge and you walk at your own risk. The café will most likely be closed when we start the walk. We will call for a drink at one of the cafes in the village of Figueras after the walk.
Directions: Drive West along the N125 past the Alvor turning and the Penina Golf, after approximately 2kms go under a footbridge and immediately turn right into Figueras at the sign "Polidisportivo". Park near the Cafe Sociedade Recreativo Figuerense.

Please add your name if you would like to join us. Thank you Linda and Russell The contact number on the day is: 0044 796 0552618

Linda reports:

"We got off to a good start, just 12 so a nice amount. We did 11 kms in 2 1/2 hours so a good pace too. Perfect weather of course and gorgeous countryside. We didn't see any of the fire damage but lots of changes to the paths since the land clearance. Two of the new walkers were all the way from Canada Ellen and Ray.

The walkers were: Colin, Chantal, Wendy, Karen, Sharon, Caroline, Dawn, Jon, Ellen, Ray, Russell and Linda.

We called at a café in the village for light refreshments after the walk."

Very envious!
Geoff
