Linda and Russell have volunteered to lead a walk from Figueras. It is mostly flat, apart from a steep climb
through the village at the start. Around 9kms - 2 hours. Meet in front of the Sports ground at Figueras at 10am.
Usual Geoff rules apply, wear suitable footwear, no charge, walk at own risk, numbers may be limited so please
let us know below if you are joining us. Directions: Follow N125 towards Lagos, pass the Alvor turning and
Penina Golf on the left. After 2kms you will see a sign on the right for Figuera, ignore the first sign and turn
immediately right at the 2nd one, after going under the bridge. The meeting point is on the left. Mobile

anyone wishes to join us for lunch afterwards.

Nine of us ventured out on this warm October day. Peter, Chris, Karen, Peter, Lesley, Vicky Nigel, Linda and Russell. We all completed 10kms in 2hours 40minutes and enjoyed a refreshing drink after the walk in the village café in Figueras. Seven of us then ventured across the road to Café Tic Tac and enjoyed some excellent Portuguese cuisine.

Linda adds :

"Well we all safely completed the walk today. We had decent walkers, all dressed sensibly as it is still around 31C here in the Algarve. Only one without a hat was Russell but he is like a black man so doesn't need one.

We found a new café for refreshments in the village, but no menu. We went over to Café Tic Tac and they sorted us out with a meal for 8.50 each. The café is closing tomorrow though as one of the guys wants to retire and they were renting the café so don't plan going there too soon."

Shame, I always miss out on Tic Tac.
