Hi all.....this is the first of our " easy Thursday Strollers" walks , to judge what demand there is.

Around the Ilha do Rosario , beautiful views of the river confluence of the Arade and the Odelouca. It should take about 2 hours & is easy. We usually go over the centre of the "island" , but on this occassion will just stick to the flat lavada route.

Degre of difficulty ( scale 1:5) : 1 Easy

Directions: from CVO , cross the bridge into Silves & turn left on the R124towards Montchique/Portimao. After a little under 5 km you will see the Mira Rio cafe & restaurant on your left after a sharpish right hand bend. Parking is at the cafe , which is handy for a drink after! They also do a good Prata de Dia for about 8€ for those that are hungry!

Start at 1000.

Stout trainers/boots & a bottle of water suggested! Take your binoculars if you are a bird watcher. A walking pole is probably not needed on this route.

No charge of course.

No idea how popular these Thursday Stroller Walks will be, but please indicate below if you are coming as nmbers will need to be limited to about 20.

We had 14 for our first easy thursday walk , though Russell had c 5km walk to get to the starting grid!



Nice day for walking, some sun but also some cloud.... both Sue's, Ken and Russell decided to go over the top, the rest of us walked sedately around the lavada & admired the confluence;



the Clube Nautica was closed, as usual, but the Mia Ria served a good beer & a better lunch ( 7.5€) for 9 of us.
