FISHING

Post by madaboutangling »

I am keen to hear from fellow sea anglers about where you fish with what bait and any tips at any time of the year.
So far I have tried bass fishing on Centiennes beach, off the rocks at Rocha Brava and Algar Seco and off the quay at Ferraguda.
Best haul so far has been bream at Rocha Brava in October using ragworms. It was too rough on Centiennes when I tried but I saw the locals bringing the Bass in.

For sea bass the best bait on my opinion is cuttlefish.
See link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuttlefish
You can find it fresh on supermarkets. Sometimes other baits are hard to find and most of them are dead on the next day.
You can cut it in stripes and freeze it for later use. Not good has fresh but at least you have bait.

Thanks. Where do you fish for Bass? Out next at Easter. Are they around then?
