First of all new restaurants we tried.
Stone steak - restaurant hill - Very nice for a first try at cook your own, excellent cut of fillet steak, if you order chicken you get 2 chicken breasts which I think is excellent value. there is a good selection of extra sauces for 2 euros along with the 3 which come with the meal. a jacket potato is also included. 71 euros for 4 mains along with 2 rounds of drinks for 4 people. Only down side is that its very near the road.
Fernandos Stone steak - monte carvoeiro - after our first try at cook your own we decided to try another in a nicer location. again excellent cut of meat. only one chicken breast and no extra sauces, but they offer a range of veg etc that you can put on the stone, eg fried onions, corn on the cob. Nice surroundings and we went on the night that the violinist is there so that was nice (Thurs eve i think).
Pimenta Preta - Palm gardens - excellent menu. Really well cooked food and good for a special occasion. Nice location and we asked for a table near the pool. We definitely be returning here and its a shame we didn't go there until our next to last night so didn't have time to go again.
Then we also went back to all our favourites - Jardim O Farol - we went here 3 or 4 times for lunch (favourite for piri piri). Vila Medici, excellent as usually. Lighthouse, menu a little limited but cooked well, always loads of mossies so wear repellent. Onze, one of our favouries. O Barco, we come here almost every morning for a drink, perfect for people watching with a lovely view. had lunch here too (really good chips!!). Rascals - always have a couple of lunches here
Needless to say after re-reading this, we have come home quite a few pounds heavier but it was worth every euro Roll on August 2015

The one at Monte Carvoeiro was slightly more expensive. Would be happy to visit both again though.
